Well, I would have never even thought of myself as an Athlete, but a lot has changed for me in the last nine months. I joined CFMC in Oct. 2015. I had not worked out for about four months and I knew the longer I did nothing the harder it would be to get started again. Prior to CFMC I did strength training group classes, TCPT military boot camps and group workouts at the YMCA. I always do better with classes, someone telling me what to do and I love getting to know others in the group. Accountability is huge and it is nice when you are missed even if it is because you are so loud. LOL CFMC is close to my house and I had heard really good stuff about them, but I had no idea what great things awaited me there.
From my first talk with Kara to my two personal training days with Allie, they made me feel comfortable and good about myself. It is very overwhelming trying to learn all the new workouts and equipment. The bell bar or bar bell or whatever…I get confused. The movements, how much weight you should use for ALL the different workouts. Hang cleans, jerks, snatches and thrusters. There are the push-ups, pull ups and BURPEES. And let’s do not forget about the single unders, double unders, AND the heavy singles… (that means jump rope, one jump, two jumps or a big jump rope) NOT my favorites and they make me whine big time. From the warm ups, stretches and runs, to the always unique weightlifting, metcons to the cash outs, you get one full hour of things you would not do on your own. I can say this has been the best thing that I have done for myself in a long time. I go 5am, 5 days a week. My day is not the same when I don’t go. It starts my day off right. I’m more productive and energized. The coaches are awesome. No matter how much I try to talk them out of the workout, to give us an “either” “or”. LOL They stick to the plan. They are so well educated and care about your form so you don’t hurt yourself. They go over all the movements every time no matter if it’s your first day or if you have been there for years. You work at your comfort level and the coaches will push you to do things you never thought you could. It is amazing how good it feels building up your body strength. My images are from June 2015 and June 2016. I had lost some weight before I started CFMC, but now my body shape and tone is so awesome, it is exciting to the change. I’m not bragging, I’m just sharing. At 55 years old I am in better shape than I have even been in my life. I feel comfortable in shorts and in my two-piece bathing suit. YOU KNOW AS WE GET OLDER – IF WE DON’T MOVE IT – WE WILL LOSE IT.
I am so very thankful to CFMC and all of their wonderful staff for what they do for us.
