I would like to thank the coaches at CFMC for selecting me for athlete of the month, they are always friendly and helpful. My CrossFit journey has been up and down, then back up again. I started at CFMC in early 2015, when my friend Ruston told me I should give it a try. I told him “I’ll try it one day”, but kept putting it off. “One day” came when I stepped on the scale and it was not a number I wanted to see. I decided it was time to stop being lazy. I started working out at least twice a week, I loved it and was losing weight.
In late 2016 after my amazing wife gave birth to our second child, it got harder and harder to make it to the gym and easier and easier to make excuses not to workout. By the end of 2016, I quit going all together.
This year I decided it was time to go back since I weight was creeping back up. I decided staying in shape is something I want to do for myself and my family. I’ve been back 6 months and things are going great. I am eating better and feeling much healthier.
It can still be hard to stay motivated and find time to go to the gym, but I tell myself it’s only an hour and I’m not just doing it for me. Thanks again to all the coaches for the help and support on my journey back. I also want to thank my awesome wife for always supporting me!
